Fourteen in a period where (I’m just referring to 18th century America here because the world building is crap) women begin courting as early as fifteen or sixteen! Being sheltered is no excuse for not being able to think logically and rationally. There’s a thin line between extreme nativity and plain stupidity, and there’s just no way that I can categorize her as the former.
